Lexington-Based Powerhouse of Giving Group Announces Community-Wide Donation Drive Benefitting Local Charities
November 14th, 2022—Lexington, Kentucky— The Powerhouse of Giving, a collection of 20 local businesses whose mission is to “engage and empower caring businesses to provide resources that give back, while encouraging others to identify and respond to the needs of the community,” today announces a community-wide donation drive to support several charitable organizations throughout the Bluegrass region during the holiday season.
Running Friday, November 11th through Friday, December 9th, the Powerhouse of Giving is hosting a community-wide donation drive to collect much-needed supplies for Lexington Rescue Mission, The Nest, Greenhouse17, and the Hope Center.
Requested donation items include:
- Deodorant
- Diapers
- Feminine hygiene products
- Full-size body wash
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Toothpaste
- Laundry supplies
- Sanitizing wipes
- Toothbrushes (adult and children)
- Winter gloves (adult and children)
Community members can bring their donations to one of two participating Powerhouse of Giving locations: CLARK Material Handling Company, located at 700 Enterprise Drive, Lexington, KY 40510; or Big Ass Fans, located at 2348 Innovation Drive, Lexington, KY 40511. Both locations are open Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
“During the holiday season, many Kentuckians want to support those in need, and our goal is to make it easy for them to do so,” commented Cynthia Barnes, Community Relations Manager at CLARK Material Handling Company. “Through the Powerhouse of Giving’s community donation drive, we can provide essential supplies to organizations that support community members year-round.”
“We see a need in the community for businesses to come together to support organizations that provide housing, food, hope, education, and more to those in greatest need in Lexington,” added Gretchen Bright, Marketing Communications and Engagement Manager at Big Ass Fans. “As a member of the Powerhouse of Giving group, we are honored to offer our facility as a donation drop-off location for the community donation drive. Working together we can make a true difference in the Lexington community.”
